2024
Originating in 2024, Brownsville Space Fest was created to celebrate the growing space industry in Brownsville, Texas, while bringing renewed pride and energy to the heart of our beautiful downtown district. The inaugural event showcased the incredible creativity and talent of our community, featuring local vendors, visual artists, musicians, and a crowd-favorite costume contest that brought attendees together for a one-of-a-kind celebration.
2025
By its second year, Brownsville Space Fest had evolved beyond a traditional community event, becoming a signature experience for Brownsville and its visitors. The 2025 festival expanded throughout Downtown Brownsville, welcoming more vendors and introducing new programming, including a unique discussion panel featuring city leadership alongside Texas Space Commission Executive Director Norman Garza Jr. The panel explored new perspectives on space commerce and the future of the industry. The 2025 festival also introduced its first major music headliner, featuring American record producer, songwriter, and musician Abraham Isaac “A.B.” Quintanilla III.
2026
Now entering its third year, Brownsville Space Fest continues to grow as one of the city’s most innovative and exciting celebrations. In 2026, the festival expands from a single-day event into a three-day experience, allowing for more opportunities to showcase science, creativity, technology, and community throughout Brownsville. The 2026 festival will feature a wide range of new experiences, including a live orchestra concert, a full day of space presentations and keynote speakers, a robotics competition, a rocket competition, a Maker Faire, a 24-hour film race, and more. Alongside these new additions, the signature festival day will continue to highlight the best of Brownsville — featuring local talent, exceptional food, unique musical performances, creative competitions, and unforgettable community experiences.
